Winter calls for a nourishing diet which will not aggravate the Kapha & Vata Doshas. Both being cold in nature, the food we eat should have the opposite warming qualities. As we tend to be physically less active, movement and circulation are impaired. The cold and damp outside lower our metabolism (Agni in Ayurveda), create stagnation and blockages and often gets us to eat emotionally.
This recipe has the advantages of providing the nourishment our bodies and mind need through the winter without the heaviness. Chia seeds are recommended for those overweight. It provides a great source of protein, triggers our ability to an efficient digestive process and prevent us from stocking up the unwanted (fat and toxins).
